Last night, Young was honored for his musical accomplishments by an invitation to the Grand Ole Opry. The offer was made by country music legend Vince Gil, who teamed up with Young on his latest #1 hit, "Sober Saturday Night."

Young was shocked and excited, grabbing Gil into a giant bear hug in his happiness.

Just before Gil made the offer, he presented Young a Platinum certification for his album Neon and certification plaques for his singles “Think Of You” (Platinum) and “Sober Saturday Night” (Gold). This brings the Grammy winner's tally to 16 Gold and Platinum certifications.

Young will join the likes of Blake Shelton, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn and  Reba McEntire at his formal induction which will take place Tuesday, October 17, just days before the release of his 7th album, Losing Sleep.
