It looks like Jenny changed her number.
Tommy Tutone's 1981 hit 8675309/Jenny has lost its record-holding spot as the highest-charting song with a phone number in the title. It hit number four on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 1982.
As of yesterday, Logic’s “1-800-273-8255,” featuring Khalid and Alessia Cara hit the number three spot on the Hot 100 list.
While Jenny caused people across the country to abandon their phone numbers, the number in Logic's song has a great significance - it's the number for the National Suicide Hotline.
"I've been on the low / I been taking my time / I feel like I'm out of my mind / It feel like my life ain't mine / Who can relate?"
The service reported a 50 percent increase in call volume after Logic performed the song at MTV’s Video Music Awards, according to CNN. The performance honored suicide survivors, while also acknowledging two suicides in the music industry this summer, Linkin Park's Chester Bennington and Soundgarden's Chris Cornell.
Why take on such a huge issue? Bobby Tarantino, aka Logic, said on Twitter:
This is the second vintage song that was replaced in the Hot 100 record book this year. We previously reported that Despacito hit the list as the first primarily Spanish-language song in 20 years, the last being 1996's “Macarena” by Los del Rio.
