Puerto Rico's hit song takes the YouTube crown
Luis Fonsi's Despacito still has a lot of people are still singing along.
The official YouTube video for the Spanish-language smash hit has now hit 5 billion views. No other video on the site has reached such heights.
The video, which was posted Jan. 12 of last year, also features Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee.
To put it in perspective, this isn't the remix version featuring Justin Bieber. The original song is the one to hit the 5 billion milestone. The Bieber version is currently sitting at only a fraction of that: 7.6 million views.
Despacito didn't just claim the top of YouTube now, though. The song has been holding the title strongly since August of last year.

Most people remember Psy's Gangnam Style holding the most-viewed record on YouTube for a long time. It did hold the spot since being released in 2012. See You Again by Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth nabbed the spot in July 2017 but was quickly overtaken by Fonsi.
