Alexa PenaVega encourages people to check out mom-approved places to fish and boat
Alexa PenaVega first captured our hearts when she played Carmen Cortez in the popular Spy Kids franchise, but during her career she always said how important the outdoors were to her and how much she loved recreational fishing.
After having a long career guest-starring in popular hit TV shows like ER, The Bernie Mac Show and Ghost Whisperer, she moved on to play Ruby from ABC Family series Ruby and the Rockets. Then she did something that we never really want childhood favorite performers to do...she had the nerve to grow up.
In 2014, this Miami native married Carlos PenaVega and they recently welcomed their first son, Ocean and this happy family now lives in Hawaii.
In 2015, she stared in the 21st season of Dancing with the Stars where she and professional dancer Mark Ballas finished the competition in 6th place.
Now, PenaVega has been fishing for most of her life and she explained how the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation came up with the top 50 mom-approved fishing spots, one for every state. She explained how you can find out many helpful tips at www.takemefishing.org.
