Drake has been busy this summer, dealing with a rap beef, putting together hit song-video combos ( “God's Plan” and “Nice For What”) all while finishing his fifth studio album Scorpion.
And on Monday evening Drake dropped a trailer for Scorpion which is scheduled to release June 29.
The trailer begins with an outside scene to the side of a house where the camera peers through the gate, showing DJ Khaled pacing back and forth. It then transitions into the house where you see Drake seated and then getting up, followed by a behind-the-shoulder shot of him driving his car.
The feel is almost somber. The schemes used in the video reflect a calming, yet temperamental tone.
The final shot shows the Take Care rapper putting on headphones in the studio.
If the trailer has any connective properties to the album itself, then we can expect some somber components to this album that reflects where he wants to touch fans with this album.
