Less than a month after the 2014 Golden Globes ceremony, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Dick Clark Productions and NBC are already thinking about the 2015 show. The network announced the date for the 2015 ceremony and, in case you forgot, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be back.
The 72nd annual Golden Globes ceremony will take place on Sunday, Jan. 11, beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern.
Fey and Poehler, who won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy series for Parks and Recreation, have hosted the previous two ceremonies and agreed to do one more. The duo have earned positive reviews for their hilarious turns as hosts and are bringing in the viewers.
The 2013 show drew 20.9 million viewers in total, up 6 percent over the previous year, NBC said. It also averaged a huge 6.5 18-49 rating, up 2 percent.
Not only do we have the privilege of announcing the date of the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards, we are very appreciative of Tina and Amy for hosting the ceremony for a third year in a row,” HFPA president Theo Kingma said in a statement. “There is no doubt they will once again host a memorable Golden Globe Awards celebration!"
This year’s Golden Globes ceremony saw 12 Years A Slave win Best Picture - Drama and American Hustle won Best Picture - Comedy/Musical. The top winners in the TV categories were Breaking Bad and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
