There’s been some Grey’s Anatomy casting news surfacing lately, and the newest is the exit of Tessa Ferrer and Gaius Charles, who will reportedly not return as series regulars next season.
Ferrer, who plays Leah, and Charles, who plays Shane, their contract weren’t picked up for Season 11 – which hasn’t even been officially announced yet either.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, they both joined the long-running ABC show in Season 9 and they were promoted to series regulars this season. They joined the show along with Camilla Luddington – Jo - and Jerikka Hinton- Stephanie.
While original cast members Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo have already signed contracts through an impending Season 12, Sandra Oh announced her departure after this season.
Back in August, Oh (Cristina Yang) who has been on the show since its conception in 2005, told THR she was “ready to let her go.” Isaiah Washington (Dr. Preston Burke) will return for her send-off after getting fired back in 2007 for allegedly calling then co-star T.R. Knight as a "fa----" in 2006 and repeating it in the press room at the Golden Globes.
E! Online reports ABC's Paul Lee told reporters at TCA he thinks the show is “going to stay on the network for many years to come.”
