Michael Cera, known for his roles in Juno, This is the End and Scot Pilgrim vs. the World, has released a surprise album.
Cera is currently starring opposite Tavi Gevinson and Kieran Culkin in the Broadway play This Is Our Youth. The 18-track album is called true that and includes songs like “Sexy Danger,” “Brat” and “uhohtrouble.”
According to EW, while this album is certainly surprising coming from Cera, it isn’t his first go-round when it comes to music.
He sang “Anyone Else But You” with his Juno co-star Ellen Page for the film in 2007. He then toured with supergroup Mister Heavenly, which combines members from Modest Mouse, Islands and Man Man. In 2011, he joined the band Weezer to provide backing vocals and play mandolin on Hang On.
USA Today reports he even played the bass in some of his films.
Cera got some great publicity for the album from his Superbad co-star, Jonah Hill, who tweeted Tuesday night “My great friend Michael Cera not only is a brilliant actor, he also makes great music.”
