Taylor Swift released a new single called ‘Shake It Off’ and announced her new album’s, 1989, release date and Twitter is reacting.
TheCelebrityCafe.com reported that via Yahoo livestream, Swift played her new single, said album 1989 will be dropped in October, and revealed a new music video.
The single “Shake It Off” is all about blowing off the things others say and to just go with the flow. The song reflects similar themes Swift has shared before in the song “Mean,” which is about how nothing good comes from putting others down.
Many fans were overjoyed by Swift’s announcement and took to Twitter to share their delight.
Speak Now- I'm not much for dancing but for you I did. Red- I don't wanna dance, if I'm not dancing with you. 1989- I'm dancing on my own.

The video for “Shake It Off” has been receiving some negative attention. According to Marie Claire, some are calling the music video racist. Rapper Earl Sweatshirt blew up his Twitter page claiming Swift was being offensive by using black stereotypes.
haven't watched the taylor swift video and I don't need to watch it to tell you that it's inherently offensive and ultimately harmful
— EARL (@earlxsweat) August 19, 2014
perpetuating black stereotypes to the same demographic of white girls who hide their prejudice by proclaiming their love of the culture
— EARL (@earlxsweat) August 19, 2014
