Artists such as Pharrell, Robin Thicke and Sam Smith have recently been accused of stealing music. Rihanna can now be added to that list.
Fans of a Texas based rapper named Just Brittany are claiming the 27-year-old stole the concept of her new single “Bitch Better Have My Money” from Just Brittany’s “Betta Have My Money.”
The title of the song has appeared to be very common and is shared by many other artists, however Just Brittany fans say the resemblance between the two songs is too similar.
Just Brittany’s version of the song was released nine months ago on SoundCloud, the Huffington Post notes. Rihanna’s single off her upcoming album R8 was released on March 26.
Fader reports that there are definitely some similarities in the hook of both songs.
Whatever the case may be, it appears that the accusations have helped Just Brittany garner more attention to her single, according to Daily Mail.
Reps for both Rihanna and Just Brittany have yet to make a comment, San Jose Mercury reports.
