The K- Pop sensation BTS announced on Mon., April 16 on Twitter their next album, Love Yourself: Tear will be released on May 18.
As if things were not on the up and up already! 2017 was a great year for the boy band and 2018 is shaping up to be bigger!

The release is definitely part of a ramping up campaign, already BTS has hit high in the charts around the globe and in America, and it has been hinted at already they will be touring big in 2018, and most likely will be in America, assumedly with this hot new album included in their performances!
It is the sequel to 2017's Love Yourself: Her the second in their Love Yourself series and is on the heels of their record-breaking Japanese Pop album Face Yourself. Her was a mini album, so this time Tear will be a bonafide album.
Love Yourself: Tear will be BTS's third LP, and will join 2014's Dark & Wild and 2016's Wings.
Since releasing Love Yourself: Her, including J-Hope’s solo Hope World, and their J- Pop album been successfully been tacked onto the Billboard 200, Love Yourself: Tear is a hugely anticipated album in 2018. Recently Face Yourself stormed the Japanese Soompi Awards, so they are riding a huge wave of success to boot.
Not much is known about Love Yourself: Tear although recently BTS released Euphoria: Theme of Love Yourself Wonder, apparently connecting themes BTS had in prior music videos. Speculation was their next album would be titled Love Yourself: Wonder due to the viral ARMY theory related to Korean literary and storytelling theory. Of course, since the title is Love Yourself: Tear, that is not the case.
BTS’s official fan site has pre-orders of the album available as of now. The pre-orders sales for Love Yourself: Her had sold 1.05 million units. It went to No. 7 on the Billboard 200 album chart in 2017.
BTS has become a huge international sensation and has broken into the American music conscious with hits like Mic Drop, with millions around the globe tuning in and their fan base the ARMY grows ever larger.In addition to the new album news this week, since they grabbed the top Social Artist award at the Billboard Music Awards in 2017 and are a regular to the Social 50, with 78 weeks behind them, they have gotten a nomination for the award again.
As of Wednesday, April 18, they snagged the nomination for Top Social Artist in the 2018 Billboard Music Awards. The K-pop mega stars reacted to the news on Twitter.
BTS will have to contend with Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and Shawn Mendes.
BTS with their albums released and with a new one on the way to be dropped into the ears of audiences around the world are already more than just K-pop. They are International Pop, especially with their spike in the American music industry and possibly they could become American mainstream staples. As May 18 approaches, fans are eager to get their hands on BTS's latest addition to their growing list of dank beats and energetic songs they have produced.
