Fans did not even notice that Carrie Underwood had an injury.
Carrie Underwood shined in her performance of her newest song “Cry Pretty” at the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sun., April 15.
The ACM Awards were Underwood's first time taking the stage since her fall in November 2017. While she was recovering, Underwood took time off social media.
In a letter to her fans Underwood says, "Physically, I'm doing pretty darn good these days!" My wrist is almost back to normal, about 90% there…and the docs say that last 10% will come in time. And my face has been healing pretty nicely as well. I definitely feel more like myself than I have in a while."
As Underwood finished her performance, she had a standing ovation from the audience. In another shining moment of the night, Underwood and Keith Urban took home an award for their duet “The Fighter.”

Fans of the singer were waiting to see what Underwood looked like with her new face, and most of them could not even see that she had stitches in her face from her fall. Underwood started posting photos of herself on April 4, 2018, although it was only a black and white photo, only revealing half of her face it was the only picture of her fans seen of her features under her nose in months.
Underwood said that the accident made her slow down, so she was spending more time with her husband Mike Fisher, and their son Isaiah.
“Sometimes I think things happen in order to make us slow down. It also means I’ve been home to support my favorite hockey player coming out of retirement!” Underwood said, referring to Fisher’s return to the Nashville Predators.
