After three months of seemingly a devastating blow to the cast, writers and everyone who enjoyed working on Lucifer, the show was given back the green light.

Lucifer, which just got chopped out of FOX after three seasons in March is being resuscitated via Netflix. Netflix gave the thumbs up for the fourth season and will add to its numerous array of originals and favorites, obviously because the show peaked their interest.

The saving call from Netflix arrived as Lucifer‘s main cast, Tom Ellis, Laura German, and co were about to have their options clock out. During the fallout from FOX, a  #SaveLucifer campaign revved up by fans kept the call for support strong enough for the show to get out of the red zone.

For those who don't know, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, who hops out of Hell and his seat of power and transitions into a civilian consultant (ergo a detective) for the Los Angeles Police Department. In addition, he passes the time by managing the Lux nightclub. Lucifer combines his wits with Lauren German aka Chloe Decker and the Devils detective partner. She's a great pick too since she is immune to supernatural phenomena.

Lucifer is not the only show FOX dumped in 2018 just to be picked up by someone else since Brooklyn Nine-Nine got grabbed by NBC after fans harangued on Twitter. Also, it is not the only Warner Bro's television show to live again on Netflix which includes the  A&E series Longmire which went for an additional three seasons after it got canceled on A&E.

Of course, the response to fans who cared enough to organize their own social media to save the show was given!

Everyone who was also involved in bringing the show together (other than FOX) breathed a sigh of relief.

Lucifer didn't grab huge ratings for Fox, although the core group of fans who enjoyed the show showed Twitter campaigns do work and it is a great way to revive a show. While the show was not particularly noted worthy to FOX viewers, and maybe people just didn't want to contribute to FOX's ratings, Lucifer will probably have a better home on Netflix. Since Netflix made the move, they obviously saw that Lucifer was worth some stream time, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Of course, this is extremely lucky since while many series do get renewed not every show survives, in fact, a lot get tossed out often. And due to varying circumstances some shows, like Roseanne just disappear.

Lucifer fans have obviously tweeted loud enough and long enough to capture the attention of Netflix which shows grassroots campaigns to save shows that are enjoyed by smaller audiences is possible. This is a great force in entertainment, since not everything that gets the most ratings is even really that entertaining, and it allows shows that normally wouldn't survive because of their eccentric or different quirks which wouldn't placate the majority can still be watched and enjoyed by smaller fan bases and cult fiction followings. #Lucifersaved.
