Everyone and their mother is rolling out a streaming service, but Walmart may prove to be a strong contender.

Walmart already has a video-on-demand site, Vudu, but the retailer has partnered with Microsoft to enter the streaming game and compete with Netflix, Hulu and Amazon. Their priority seems to be keeping costs low, aiming for a price of $8 a month to rival the higher prices of their competitors.

According to Variety, plans are in the works to include original content to stream as well as existing movies and television shows. This is a pretty note-worthy strategy that sets it apart from its competitors: Netflix, Hulu and Amazon introduced original content after their services were established.

No official plans for launch have been announced, but with the approaching streaming services DC Universe and the daunting Disneyflix, Vudu will have a lot of competition ahead of them.
