This week in music, Nicki Minaj releases “Baby Got back”-sampled “Anaconda,” R&-Pop group Danity Kane brawls with each other, warrant issued for Wiz Khalifa’s arrest, and more.

MTV Video Music Awards
MTV released a handful of new VMA performers this week including Taylor Swift, Maroon 5 and Iggy Azalea. However, the biggest VMa news so far is that Beyoncé will take the stage and also receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. Recipients of this honor include Britney Spears, Madonna, The Beatles, LL Cool J, Janet Jackson and, yes, Michael Jackson himself. So, this is kind of a big deal.

Beyonce
Speaking of Queen Bey, she has been having a pretty busy week. Her tour with Jay Z crossed the $100 Million mark , Z wrapped up the North America Leg of her tour , she was hounded with divorce rumors and she had a song written about her husband cheating on her . What really sent the internet on fire this week was her “Flawless” remix which served the lyric “Of course Sh*t gonna go down when there is a billion dollars on the elevator” and featured rap star Nicki Minaj.

Nicki Minaj
Speaking of Nicki Minaj, she has been having one of the most successful weeks of her career. Her single, “Bang Bang,” with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj, debuted at #6 on the hot 100, her song “Anaconda reached #1 on iTunes and she ruled social media with the “Flawless” remix. She got even more attention after rap rival, Lil Kim released a remix of the remix dissing Minaj.

Danity Kane
Danity Kane is over once again and this time it maybe for good. The girls minus D Woods reunited at the VMAs last year and it have been drama ever since then. For one, they never released there single “Rage,” which they said was going to be their comeback single, and then another member left the group to start a family. Now, the group has disbanded after a brawl between two of the girls . What a shame? I was looking forward to the video for “Lemonade.”

Wiz Khalifa
Wiz had a warrant out for his arrest this week. The warrant was due to his failure to appear in court on a misdemeanor drug charge. He also dropped a new record called “Promises.”
