This week in Pop music: Miley Cyrus’s concert special under investigation, Maroon 5 will perform at MTV’s Video Music Awards, Hilary Duff to release new single on Monday, and a new comer makes it to the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100.
It’s possible that Miley Cyrus’ concert special violated indecency and profanity rules. During July 4th weekend, Miley Cyrus: Bangerz Tour premiered on NBC and is now under investigation by the FCC ( Federal Communications Commission). While the FCC told Rolling Stone there were only four complaints, its possible others were upset over Cyrus’ actions. One complaint said some scenes were “uncomfortable” and another said the show felt like a “XXX performance.” The full complaints can be read on the Rolling Stone page above.
