Janet Jackson will receive the Icon Award at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards Show.

Janet Jackson is to receive the Icon Award at the annual Billboard Music Awards. The singer has earned 18 Billboard nominations, winning 10 between 1990 and 2001.

The honorary award recognizes an artist's impact on culture in music and culture as a whole. Some previous recipients of the award include Neil Diamond, Prince, Cher and Stevie Wonder.

Jackson is also set to perform at the show, making this the 51-year-old's first televised performance in 9 years. She will be performing alongside Camila Cabello, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes and Dua Lipa.

Hosted by Kelly Clarkson, the event will take place at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena.
